Food Technology

Year F-5


Students participate in weekly Food Technology sessions (Kids in The Kitchen & The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program).



Year 6 Food Technology


Students participate in 100 minutes per week of Food technology per semester.  During this unit, students explore a range of basic culinary skills, including:

  • Food Hygiene
  • Cake making skills
  • Basic meal preparation

Years 7-10 Food Technology


There a range of Food Technology units offered through the Year 7-10 Elective system. In Years 7-10 Food Technology is an elective subject, where they can select from the following:

  • Best Baking                         
  • Food from Around the World
  • Foods for Performance
  • Paddock to Plate

VCE – Option

  • Food Studies
  • Hospitality (South West TAFE)
  • VCAL – College Cafe
