Design and Technologies provide students with knowledge, understanding and skills through which they can safely and ethically create designed solutions. In doing so, the students consider economic, environmental and social sustainability.
Product design is a response to changing needs and to improve quality of life by designing creative, innovative and sustainable products. Product design is enhanced through knowledge of social, technological, economic, historical, ethical, legal, environmental and cultural factors.
All students in Year 6 participate in CORE Visual Arts & Technology subjects (Woodwork & Food Technology). In addition to this, all students in Year 7-10 are able to choose from a broad range of technology-based electives offered through the Year 7-10 elective system.
