VCE VM/VPC

The new VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) is a 2-year program within the VCE where students develop knowledge, confidence and skills for work and life. It is a more practical, hands-on study method to develop your personal and practical life skills, and will help prepare you for the next important stage of your life. As part of the VCE VM you will also study a VET (Vocational Education & Training) certificate in an area of interest, so generally speaking, you will spend 3 days a week at school, 1 day at TAFE doing a VET certificate and 1 day a week doing a work placement.

The VCE Vocational Major offers a pathway into:

  • apprenticeships
  • traineeships
  • further education and training
  • university (through alternative entry programs)
  • employment.

The new Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) is a flexible foundation secondary course designed for a small number of students in years 11 and 12 who, for a range of reasons, are not able or ready to undertake the VCE or the VCE Vocational Major.
