Welcome to our mathematics page!
Did you know Mortlake has a whole school mathematics goal?
Our maths goal is….
“Increasing the speed of recall of number facts”
This means being able to automatically answer number facts/times tables questions without having to work them out- we just know them.
Becoming fluent in these basic number facts lays a strong foundation for all other mathematics and that’s why we have chosen to focus on this area.
This page aims to provide resources for students to use to help work towards their number fact goals. We will also celebrate progress and success so stay tuned to see our first primary school winners of the “Speedster of the Week” and the “Zooming forward” award.Prep -Year 6 Number Fact Champions for the weekCongratulations to the following students
HIT THE BUTTONA great website to practice number facts – doubles, near doubles, partners to 10, times tables, number bonds, powers and more. Good luck! Versatile for all age groups. Hit The Button - Click here to playMATH MAGICIANThis is a website where you can earn certificates but most importantly focus on certain times tables. You need to complete 20 questions in a minute to pass. To challenge yourself, after receiving your certificate, continue to practise to see how lower time you can answer the 20 questions in. This website also allows for practise of division facts, mixed, addition and subtraction. Math Magician - click here to playMETEOR MULTIPLICATIONIf you are after a challenge, then click the link below. There are 6 stages to pass to conquer the game but there are many levels as you can set the speed and the times tables to focus on. A test for the ‘speediest of timetablers’ would be to have the range at 1-12 and speed on fast. Have a practise first and then ask to challenge your teacher. At the end of stage 6 you receive a certificate. Meteor Multiplication - click here to playTimes TablesTime Tables - Click here to play
